WELDED WIRE FABRIC

Concrete by its very nature tends to crack. In residential and light construction, cracking is due primarily to drying shrinkage, temperature & moisture changes, and soil conditions. The primary purpose of Welded Wire Fabric reinforcements in slabs is to control the cracking of concrete in both directions. Welded Wire Fabric keeps the cracked sections of a slab closely knit together so that the slab will act as one unit.

BENEFITS:

· Maintains level, even surface so one cracked section will not drop below the other.

· Permits larger panels and thus fewer joints

· Improves appearance of slab by holding cracks closely together
